FILL DIRT SOLUTION
Our engineered fill-dirt solution is one of the most cost-effective geotechnical methods available when the terrain allows it. Instead of demolishing a failing timber or railroad-tie wall—and paying for excavation, disposal, gravel backfill, and a full retaining wall rebuild—we evaluate whether the existing slope can safely support a structural mass of compacted engineered fill. Using 3-D terrain modeling, our engineers design a cut-and-fill plan that adds strength from the ground up. We start at the lowest elevation and compact engineered fill in controlled 1-ft lifts with excavators, skid-steers, bulldozers, and vibratory compactors to create a unified, dense soil mass. This method reinforces the slope, eliminates voids, improves bearing capacity, and builds a reliable flat pad for future use. When conditions are suitable, engineered fill can bury a failed wall, stabilize the hillside, and restore safety while saving homeowners tens of thousands of dollars compared to traditional retaining wall replacement.
ROCK BUTTRESS SOLUTION
When a slope or retaining wall is failing and the terrain does not allow engineered fill or geogrid reinforcement, a rock buttress becomes one of the most economical and highly effective stabilization methods available. Instead of tearing out the entire slope, removing unsuitable soils, and rebuilding a full retaining wall with gravel backfill, we construct a dense structural mass using 500–1,000 lb boulders placed in engineered lifts. Working from the bottom up with excavators and skid-steers, we interlock the stone to form a gravity-resistant buttress that counteracts earth pressures and supports the slope above. This method increases shear resistance, improves bearing capacity, and adds long-term stability without the extreme cost of traditional wall replacement. In many cases, a rock buttress delivers equal or greater structural performance while saving the homeowner 25–30% compared to conventional retaining wall construction or full excavation and rebuild.

Percussion-driven earth anchors are one of the most efficient solutions when a slope or retaining wall needs immediate stabilization but lacks the space for geogrid, MSE reinforcement, or full excavation. Instead of tearing out the structure, we drive high-strength steel anchors deep into competent soil using hydraulic percussion equipment, then load-lock them to create an immediate tensioned resistance plate. This process transfers the load away from the failing face and into stable ground, restoring structural capacity without major digging or disruption. Anchors are ideal for supporting retaining walls, repairing sinkholes, stabilizing steep slopes, arresting movement behind homes, and reinforcing areas where heavy machinery cannot safely operate. Because installation requires minimal excavation, anchor systems provide a fast, unobtrusive, and cost-effective alternative to total wall replacement—often saving clients substantial time and money while significantly improving safety.
